Police: Woman arrested in connection to stabbing incident
LAS CRUCES - A Las Cruces woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with an alleged stabbing that took place Monday evening, May 3, on the 2400 block of East Idaho Avenue.
Brandee Martinez, 34, is charged with one third-degree felony count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one misdemeanor count of resisting an officer.
According to court documents, the alleged victim was spending time with her boyfriend on May 3. She left, and when she returned, her boyfriend was gone. She tracked his phone to an address on Idaho Avenue which she learned was the address of his ex-girlfriend, Martinez.
The vast majority of states do not require students to wear masks while actively participating in sports.
Garner s letter references other states that have lifted school mask-wearing requirements, including Florida, Texas, South Dakota and Idaho. This practice must cease or we will take court action to stop it, the letter states.
California, Washington and Michigan all require student athletes to wear masks at all times. Some states including Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, New York, Kansas, Illinois and Oregon require masks for certain sports and do not require them for others.
Oregon recently changed its mask mandate after a student athlete passed out during a track meet.
