As a precaution, the City of Cape Town had advised residents of the CBD and Atlantic Seaboard not to drink municipal tap water.
Mobile standpipes were installed along Beach Road for residents to collect water for domestic consumption, if necessary.
The City said an investigation into the quality of the water has shown no health risk.

After extensive sampling, it has been revealed that there is no health risk in the distribution system. The water is safe to drink.

THE OPENING of the Jac Lewis Foundation wellbeing centre marks a new start for mental health services in Ammanford, says its appointed counsellor. The foundation was set up by officials at Ammanford AFC in December 2019 following the death of one of its players, 27-year-old Jac Lewis, in February of that year. The ground-breaking wellbeing centre is based in the recreation ground in Ammanford and provides free of charge services including telephone support, one-to-one counselling, well-being workshops, coffee mornings, training courses along with mentor training for the community and a place for people to meet, engage and not be alone. In the last 12 months the charity has helped hundreds of people of all ages work through mental health challenges through its services.
PINEY FLATS, TN - Edwin Dennis Lindamood, age 82 of Piney Flats TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 10, 2020. He was born on September 9, 1938, to the late Dennis and Ruby Lindamood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Janie Lindamood and his son David Lindamood. Ed had many passions, one of which was welding. He was a Master Welder by trade for more than 50+ years and loved to teach others how to weld. He also loved old cars, especially Hudsons, and loved to get his 1937 Hudson Terraplane out any chance he had and just drive to nowhere in particular.
