Murder charge filed in Humboldt Park shooting over summer weekend with 104 shot

Humboldt Park over a June weekend that saw 104 people shot.
Anthony Neal, 24, faces a felony count of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of 22-year-old Toby Boens, according to Chicago police.
Boens was among two people shot June 21 in the in the 800 block of North Springfield Avenue, authorities said.
Boens was shot in his chest and died at Stroger Hospital, while a 34-year-old man was shot multiple times and critically wounded.
Boens was among 104 shot, 15 of them fatally, over Father’s Day weekend in Chicago. Five of those killed were minors.

Neal is already being held without bail at Cook County Jail on a weapons charge and for violating house arrest, according to court records.
