ARIZONA, USA Husbands, wives, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters. They are the men and women who serve our country. Veterans and active-duty service members of all ages. Whether they served during times of war, peace or pandemic, their courage and commitment are something to celebrate. They are the men and women who make Arizona proud.
There are roughly half a million veterans living in Arizona. Far too often, they are not truly recognized for the sacrifices they have made so the rest of us can enjoy our freedom.

PHOENIX There are roughly half a million veterans living in Arizona. We are honoring those who serve by sharing their stories of service, dedication, hope and perseverance. For many, making the move from the military to civilian life can be challenging. But Army Veteran Michael Cripe is trying to make that transition a little easier for others. When someone says thank you for your service, I m deeply appreciative, but honestly when I hear that I always want to say, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve. It is that sense of service that drives Cripe - an Army veteran who comes from a family with a very long history of serving our country.

PHOENIX After more than 30 years in service to his country, Maj. Gen. Michael T. McGuire, head of the Arizona National Guard, announced his retirement and shared some of his post-military plans on Tuesday.
McGuire’s entrance into the military was born of the simple pursuit of athletics.
A football Offensive Lineman in High School, McGuire accepted an invitation to join The Air Force Academy Falcons. His athletic career didn’t take him quite as far as his military career would, however.
