“It’s been a challenging, but really productive year,” says Molly Breen, who co-founded Tennessee Playwrights Studio with Kenley Smith in 2018 and currently serves as TPS producer and program coordinator. “Despite the pandemic, we’ve continued to do the work, developing new scripts and building new partnerships. We’re really excited about all the possibilities and opportunities, particularly as live theater resumes.”

April 26 : Filmmaker and producer Guneet Monga took to her social media profile and informed that she has tested positive for COVID-19 and will remain under home quarantine.
She issued a press statement, which read, Dear All. Despite taking due care and all the necessary precautions, I have tested positive for Covid-19. I am under self-quarantine and taking all the measures to combat the virus with the guidance of my doctor. I am now recovering well. It’s a sincere and an urgent request for whoever has come in contact with me recently to kindly get themselves tested. Please take care and stay safe! Guneet Monga read the full note.
The hip-hop community is suffering another devastating loss. Just two weeks after the death of rapper and actor DMX, rapper Shock G of the group Digital Underground has died at 57. The artist’s dad reportedly found him in a Tampa hotel room. The cause of death has not been reported as of yet. On Thursday, April 22, Digital Underground co-founder Cutmaster J confirmed the passing of his group member. While sharing a photo of himself and Shock G, he wrote, “34 years ago almost to the day we had a wild idea we can be a hip hop band and take on the world through it all the dream became a reality and the reality became a nightmare for some. And now he’s awaken from the fame long live shock G Aka Humpty Hump and Rest In Peace my Brotha Greg Jacobs!!! #digitalunderground.”
