PETALING JAYA: The National Security Council (MKN) has issued a warning notice to all government agencies, urging them to take proactive measures to prevent and minimise the impact of possible cyberattacks.
The statement comes after a group that claimed to be Anonymous Malaysia announced plans to attack government websites in a recent video released on Facebook.
MKN and its National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa) said it takes the threat issued by Anonymous Malaysia seriously.

LUMPUR: The National Security Council (MKN) through the National Majlis Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) has issued a warning notice to all government agencies to take the necessary steps to prevent and minimise the impact of possible hacking attempts against their official websites.
The MKN, in a statement here today, said the action was taken following the viral video of a threat to hack government websites posted by ‘Anonymous Malaysia’ recently.
It said NACSA was also working closely with the Royal Malaysia Police to coordinate and take the necessary actions.
“The government views seriously and has always given priority to the security aspects of the government’s information technology infrastructure and the country’s critical systems by emphasising on the actions to strengthen the information technology system, including improving the knowledge and skills of the relevant officials,” it said.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 26 – Police have not yet received reports that government websites have been hacked as a result of the threat from hacker activist group ‘Anonymous Malaysia’.
However, Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob, director of Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK), said the police cybercrime division was always on the lookout to curb such attempts.
