The unofficial kick off of Summer 2021 is here!
Boise offers so many ways for families to cool down when things start to heat up. Swimming at Lucky Peak, Eagle Island or Quinn s Pond. Taking a dip in one of the public pools. Screaming as you plunge down Snake River Run at Roaring Springs. Running through one of the splash pads around the Treasure Valley.

But, if you know what else we can do this summer that was a little difficult to do in 2020? Grab a giant tub of popcorn, a soda that s the size of a bucket and bask in the cool AC of a movie theater. With the exception of mom and pop theater, Overland Park Cinemas, most theaters in the Treasure Valley were closed until August. Some even went through a second closure in October.

Starting Monday, a lot more water will be flowing through the Boise River and officials are urging caution for anyone recreating in and around the river.
River flows will nearly triple from Monday to Wednesday, going from 700 to 1,900 cubic feet per second. Bureau of Reclamation spokeswoman Christine Schuldheisz said the additional snowmelt coming through demands extra caution.
“The river will be running faster, more swiftly, and it ll still be pretty cold,” she said.
This represents an annual effort to aid salmon migration in the Lower Snake and Columbia Rivers by increasing the amount of water coming through Lucky Peak Dam. Despite the increase, Schuldheisz said the river will still be well below flood stage.
There’s a New Smoothie Bowl Food Truck in Boise
Look out for a new food truck around the Treasure Valley! It s perhaps the healthiest one out there. Mountain Berry Bowls is now serving the Boise area delicious acai bowls pop up food truck style!
To be honest, I ve had this idea in my head for quite some time now but I m glad someone else finally executed it. Smoothie bowls in my opinion always made sense to sell out of a food truck considering how easy they are to whip up. They re also perfect to eat during the summertime so the timing of Mountain Berry Bowls coming to Boise couldn t be more perfect.
