01 - U.S. President Donald Trump s science adviser announced he is leaving his post. Dr. Scott Atlas, who had no formal experience in public health or infectious diseases, gained infamy for his skepticism of measures to control the coronavirus outbreak. Atlas joined the White House in the summer, clashing with top government scientists as he resisted stronger efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

SINGAPORE – Singapore Airlines (SIA) delivered the first shipment of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines to Singapore earlier this evening on board one of its Boeing 747-400 freighters.
“The delivery of this first batch of Covid-19 vaccines to Singapore is an important milestone in the fight against Covid-19, and we are honoured to be able to play a part in this,” said SIA’s Senior Vice President Cargo, Chin Yau Seng, in a statement today.

“It also served to demonstrate SIA’s and the Singapore air hub’s readiness for the very important job of transporting and distributing Covid-19 vaccines internationally,” he added.

OTTAWA – Canada could have a second vaccine in its arsenal against COVID-19 as early as next week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Tuesday.
Moderna’s vaccine has not yet been approved by Health Canada, but officials have said it is close and published research indicates it is more than 90 per cent effective in preventing people from getting the virus.

Trudeau said Canada could get up to 168,000 doses of Moderna’s vaccine by the end of December, with deliveries beginning shortly after regulatory approval.
