04/19/21 WorkersCompensation.com San Francisco, CA (WorkersCompensation.com) - The Division of Workers Compensation (DWC) has posted an update order adjusting the Hospital Outpatient Departments and Ambulatory Surgical Centers section of the Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) to conform to relevant changes in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1. On March 23, the DWC Administrative Director issued an order adjusting the Hospital Outpatient Departments and Ambulatory Surgical Centers section of the OMFS. Subsequently, on March 25, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued an April 2021 ASC Approved HCPCS Code and Payment Rates file. The Administrative Director s update order adopts specified columns of certain tables to replace the March 22 file for services rendered on or after April 1, 2021. The specified columns of the tables are components used in defining the scope of “surgical procedures” for fee schedule purposes.
