What are the Queen’s birthday plans? Ellie Abraham With Queen Elizabeth II famously celebrating two birthdays annually, this year the monarch turns 95. Although the Queen was born on 21 April 1926, she also celebrates an official birthday in June with The Queen’s Official Birthday Parade. June’s celebration is also commonly known as Trooping the Colour and takes place in central London with crowds typically filling the Mall outside Buckingham Palace. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, Buckingham Palace has announced that this year’s celebrations have been cancelled. It is now the second year in a row that the event has been called off. Her Majesty is also still mourning the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh, just days after she had to sit alone at his funeral.
