Motorcyclist breaks both legs in crash on Mission Bay roadway

SAN DIEGO  A motorcyclist fractured both legs Sunday night when he crashed while driving on a sharply curving transition ramp in Mission Bay, police said. It happened about 8:45 p.m. on the ramp from West Mission Bay Drive to Ingraham Street, according to San Diego police Officer Sarah Foster. The 30-year-old rider lost control and hit the concrete wall, Foster said. Medics took him to a hospital for treatment of his serious injuries. The San Diego Police Department’s traffic division is investigating the crash.

SAN DIEGO  San Diego police are investigating three shootings that occurred within a one-hour period early Sunday, with one victim suffering life-threatening injuries. The first shooting was reported around 2:50 a.m. at the intersection of Island Avenue and First Avenue in a downtown parking lot. The victim, a man believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, was found suffering from gunshot wounds to his back and transported to a hospital. Police said his injuries were thought to be life-threatening. Investigators found bullet casings from three different caliber guns at the scene, said police Officer Sarah Foster.
