The Loyalty Program is an extension of the Empower Program that allows Services and Technology partners to engage in marketing and business development opportunities with Star. Brookfield Properties has launched a program in the Southeast region of the United States to provide assistance to minority-owned businesses through funding, resources and retail expertise.
The Partner to Empower program is a resource designed to help underserved communities grow their business with a brick-and-mortar location at Pecanland Mall. While the Monroe branch of the program will focus on Black-owned businesses, all minority groups are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Brookfield Properties, which operates Pecanland Mall as well as four other malls in the state, has committed to investing up to $25 million in the Partner to Empower program over the next five years, dedicated to the many costs of building out a store. In addition, both business and industry experts will be available to support program participants throughout the partnership. Brookfield Properties hopes to assist 250 minority-owned businesses open by 2025.

Department of Administration Director Edward Birn submitted the request Tuesday morning, according to the governorâs spokeswoman Krystal Paco-San Agustin.
While far from the $660 million figure that local officials had been discussing, the administration said there are still county and non-entitlement elements that are estimated to add up to $604 million.
