Lawrence Community Access Television is having a spring open house to demonstrate its work and showcase opportunities to become involved.
Executive Director Daniel Rajczyk says those who wish to volunteer and learn about the cable television station may work as a crew member on a live shoot that day. The free open house takes place in staggered groups Tuesday, May 11, between 2 and 7:30 p.m., at the James Ross Memorial Studio, 468 Essex St., Lawrence.

The Museum of Printing in Haverhill is displaying a sampling of its extensive collection of vintage newspapers beginning this Saturday and through May 29.
The exhibition, featuring newspaper issues from 1781 to 1981, is called “From Rags to News” because printers would ask for old rags to make the paper needed for printing. It is said that newspapers are the first draft of history and many of those selected for this exhibition report the first news of historic events, including the deaths of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin.
Master Gardener Adele Keohan leads an online program on daylilies Tuesday, May 11. “H is for Daylilies” is presented by the Haverhill Public Library. YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts was recently awarded a $6,000 grant for its Women’s Health Services. The grant comes from the Woman’s Fund of Essex County. Volunteers are being sought for a spring “Clean and Green Downtown Haverhill Cleanup” next week in advance of the Haverhill Art Walk.
Team Haverhill is coordinating the cleanup, scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, from 6-8 p.m. Volunteers plan to meet at the entrance to the Washington-Wingate parking lot in front of the “Her Voices Carry” mural. Helpers are asked to bring mask, gloves and trash picker if available.
