ROCHESTER, N.Y. Over the course of the pandemic, the Salvation Army of Greater Rochester has assisted more than 10,000 families. But one crucial part of those services has been old hold until now.
On a typical day, Salvation Army’s Emergency Family Services program provides food, hygiene items and other assistance to about 80 people. The need has remained strong over a year into the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Really, the best way to explain is we serve the entire family with whatever their needs are,” said Matt Smeltzer, manager of Emergency Family Services.
