When did you join United Real Estate?
Jan. 20, 2015 was the day we signed our agreement with United Real Estate. At the time, our old firm had just six agents. Today, we have 240, which makes us the largest and fastest-growing brokerage office in Central Virginia.
Could you tell us more about the growth of your business since we last interviewed you in 2018?
Since we last spoke, we have added 100 more agents to our brokerage; we’ve started a title and escrow company; and we created an entity to provide our agents with cash management support services.

RICHMOND, Va. New data released by the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg revealed large disparities in access to healthcare across Central Virginia.
The report, which was released on Thursday, aimed to shed light on the inequities that exist disproportionately from locality to locality.
âPeople without health insurance often receive less medical care and have worse health outcomes than people with insurance,â according to a press release. âUnited Wayâs Equity Data Series identifies disparities through the lens of the organizationâs Steps to Success framework, a set of nine areas that guides the nonprofitâs work in the community.â

Chesterfield budget proposal includes increased BPOL threshold
Chesterfield County Administrator Joe Casey presented his proposal for the county’s fiscal year 2022 budget last week.
The $806.8 million general fund features $344.7 million in local funding to the school district, as well as $226.8 million in capital improvements that include $19 million for sidewalk upgrades. The proposed general fund for FY22 is an increase of $84.9 million (11.7 percent) compared to the adopted FY21 budget.
The budget would increase the collection threshold for the business and occupation license (BPOL) tax, upping it to $400,000 from $300,000 effective July 1. In doing so, more than 6,400 small- and medium-sized businesses would be exempt from the tax, according to the county.
