Businesses and individuals celebrated for community involvement at Chamber awards event

BEMIDJI After an entirely digital ceremony in 2020, the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce was able to once again celebrate entrepreneurs and community involvement face-to-face.

BEMIDJI The Beltrami County Board of Commissioners honored volunteers who continued to work hard for the community over the past year during the coronavirus pandemic, during a board meeting on Tuesday, May 4.
A proclamation, read by Board Chair Reed Olson, noted how Beltrami County relied heavily on citizen volunteers to provide assistance and leadership in response to the public health crisis. According to the proclamation, thousands of hours of time was put in by volunteers in 2020 and the first months of 2021.

BEMIDJI While an effort to map out Bemidji s future remains stalled by the coronavirus pandemic, locals will be assisted with the charting by the 2020 U.S. Census.
The effort, titled Envision Bemidji 2030, was first launched by the Bemidji Alliance in late 2019. The organization is made up of the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce, the Bemidji Downtown Alliance, Greater Bemidji Economic Development and Visit Bemidji.
