On the back of a favourable starting point for housing affordability, property value growth has recently accelerated across Christchurch as well as Waimakariri and Selwyn. Weâve certainly heard a number of anecdotes that younger households are considering moving to the area simply because of better affordability. Metro passengers will see some timetable and route name changes on Monday 15 February, in the third and final phase of changes for the 2020/2021 period.
Most of the changes being made this time are to ensure compliance with changes to the Employment Relations Act, while also working to ensure our network meets the needs of our customers, Environment Canterbury senior manager public transport Stewart Gibbon said.

Christchurch City Council is proposing to put a cycleway down Harewood Rd. The Wheels to Wings cycleway will include reducing Harewood Rd from four lanes to two and putting in eight new car parks.
OPINION: The Climate Change Commission’s draft advice on decarbonising the economy and blitzing our reliance on cars and cows will undoubtedly embolden the pressure groups demanding radical change.
