Hamilton fears British GP upgrades won’t be enough
Date published:
July 6 2021
Lewis Hamilton suspects Mercedes’ final planned upgrade package for the W12 will not be enough to bridge their deficit to Red Bull.
Mercedes are falling further behind in both World Championships as Red Bull now hold a 44-point lead in the Constructors’, while Max Verstappen is 32 ahead of Hamilton in the Drivers’ having won four of the last five grands prix.
The prospects are not looking particularly bright for the seven-time consecutive World Champions, given they have stated they are prioritising the creation of next year’s car for the new regulations whereas Red Bull have more developments in the pipeline this season.

Bottas returned to the level he expects in Austria
Date published:
July 4 2021
Valtteri Bottas will take momentum away from the double header in Austria, saying his performances were at the level they should be.
The 2021 season has been quite the rollercoaster so far for Bottas, but he will depart the Red Bull Ring with back-to-back podium finishes after crossing the line P2 at the Austrian Grand Prix.
It was a result which Bottas felt represented the best he could possibly achieve after starting P5, and importantly it concluded a two-week spell in Austria where his performance across the weekends were of the consistency and standard which he expects from himself.
Conclusions from the Austrian Grand Prix

The Red Bull Ring lived up to its name perfectly as Max Verstappen achieved a fourth career win at his team’s ‘home’ circuit in thoroughly commanding style.
Here are our conclusions from an Austrian Grand Prix that further strengthened Verstappen and Red Bull’s grip on the 2021 World Championship.
Max-imum return
Last week, we said Mercedes had no answers to the Max attack they are receiving. It was the same again seven days on, by virtue of an arguably even more authoritative performance.
This is title-winning form, make no mistake. Such comparisons should not really be made, but what Verstappen is showing just now is dominance like that enjoyed by Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton at their peak.
