For almost a whole year, Daniel Kristof has run 5k every day to raise money for charity.
Since 1 April 2020, Daniel has been running around Rochdale, Newhey, Shaw and Saddleworth in aid of The Team Hill Charitable Trust & Destination Florida Children’s Charity.
Now, with under a month to go until the one year milestone, Daniel, who has been posting his journey online under the name ‘The Running Manc’, has raised over £3,000 for his cause and lost 4.5 stone – running through a global pandemic, running through every type of weather, running through injury and even running in his garden when self-isolating.
On the final day – Wednesday 31 March – Daniel intends to run his first ever marathon distance of 26.2 miles, starting in Rochdale and finishing at Media City UK in Salford.
St Joseph s primary school s deputy head Steve Hill MBE during his Arctic Ice Ultra Marathon back in 2018.
The plaudits have been plentiful for Oldham teacher Steve Hill since he embarked on his monumental fundraising effort by taking on some of the toughest challenges right around the world.
Included in that is, of course, a trip to Buckingham Palace to receive an MBE and becoming an Ambassador for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards which has seen him appear regularly on the lawns of the Palace inspiring those who have taken part in the award.
Now the primary school teacher, who has founded his own charity, is to be honoured by his home town.
