Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 11 (ANI): Kashmir police s cybercrime branch saved Rs 13 lakhs which could have been lost to cybercrimes, said the police.
The Cyber Police Kashmir stated that they are receiving complaints regarding various online frauds, scams, and other cyber-related crimes on a routine basis. During the past one month, Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone, Srinagar received multiple complaints wherein complainants have been duped by fraudsters in OTP and UPI frauds, the police said in a press statement on Tuesday.
It stated that in one incident, a complainant was duped of Rs 2.00 lakhs through UPI scam stating that he wanted to seek a refund for the cancellation of his ticket. As he was struggling to find a customer care number and obtained a number from the Google search results. He immediately received call

SRINAGAR: in order to extend the services to the general public and to redress their grievances, Cyber Police Kashmir is receiving complaints regarding various online frauds, scams and other Cyber related crimes on routine basis. During the past one month, Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone, Srinagar received multiple complaints wherein complainants have been duped by fraudsters in OTP & UPI frauds.
In a statement issued here the Cyber Police said,
“In one incident, a complainant was duped of ₹2.00 lacs through UPI Scam stating that he wanted to seek a refund for the cancellation of his ticket. As he was struggling to find a customer care number and obtained a number from the Google search results. Hyderabad: A 31-year-old cyber fraudster was arrested by Rachakonda police from Jamtara in Jharkhand on Friday for allegedly duping a city-based woman for Rs 6.40 lakh.
According to the police, the victim on January 17 received an SMS regarding her Airtel network service that will expire in the next 24 hours. Subsequently, a few minutes later she received a call from Airtel customer care and was asked to download the ‘Team Viewer Quick Support’ app for updating her network service.
