15-year old Michigan girl kills her ‘The Voice’ Blind Audition, lands on Nick Jonas’ team

ROMEO, MI - She’s a sophomore in high school and she just killed her Blind Audition on the hit NBC reality singing competition, “The Voice,” landing on Team Nick Jonas.
15-year old Rachel Mac is from Romeo in Metro Detroit. She performed Patty Griffin’s “Let Him Fly” for her Blind Audition on Monday, March 15. Mac, who is in theater and marching band, says her dad inspired her to get into music.

“My dad is how I started getting into music,” Mac said on the show. “My parents got divorced when I was 4. My relationship with my mom is great, but my dad raised three girls. In 5th grade, my dad got re-married. They were married for about two years and one day we came home and the house was completely empty. She took everything and left. I love my dad and it wasn’t easy to see him get hurt like that.”

Following the fifth round of Blind Auditions, coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas all have nine members on their teams. As expected, there are some standout talents who have made the cut so far, including one singer who scored a four-chair turn during night five of Blind Auditions on Monday.
