City accused of lying after DA councillor in court for Covid-19 relief fraud 21 May 2021 10:31 AM Share This: DA councillor Nora Grose made a brief appearance in the Atlantis Magistrates’ Court on charges of fraud and money laundering on Thursday. Table View councillor Nora Grose handed herself over to the Hawks at the Atlantis SAPS Community Centre prior to her court appearance. The 64-year-old is accused of laundering Covid-19 employee relief funds and food relief funds through a Table View church. It s alleged that she colluded with Reuben Swartz, the chairperson of the SA Religious Civic Organisation (Sarco) to use Temporary Employee Relief Scheme (Ters) funds and City of Cape Town funds for personal gain.

A DA councillor has appeared in the Atlantis Magistrate s Court on fraud and money laundering charges.   Nora Grose from Table View, allegedly used Temporary Employee Relief Scheme  funds for personal gain along with a religious organisation.   It allegedly involves R170 000 that was meant for food parcels.  A DA City of Cape Town councillor appeared in the Atlantis Magistrate s Court on fraud and money laundering charges on Thursday.  Nora Grose, from Table View, is accused of using Temporary Employee Relief Scheme funds for personal gain in collusion with Reuben Swartz, the chairperson of the South African Religious Civic Organisation.   The Hawks said the R170 000 allegedly involved was meant for food parcels that were supposed to be distributed in Atlantis. The money was reportedly funnelled to a church in Table View which has links to some City officials.

Atlantis woman allegedly murdered by her boyfriend By Genevieve Serra Share Cape Town - A 23-year-old man believed to be the ex-boyfriend of a 21-year-old woman who was found stabbed to death in Atlantis has appeared in court and the State will be opposing his bail. Owen Steenberg made his first appearance today at the Atlantis Magistrate’s Court. Charne Viljoen’s family took to social media on Tuesday calling for justice after her body was found with stab wounds in Saxonsea, Atlantis on Monday. The young woman had just celebrated her 21st birthday on April 1. Police confirm the suspect is charged with Viljoen’s murder.
