Florida, Atlanta each win 3-1 in Stage 5 action

The Florida Mutineers and Atlanta FaZe each rolled to 3-1 victories to continue the second week of Stage 5 action on Friday in the Call of Duty League.
Florida prevailed in some tight competition with the Dallas Empire to keep within striking distance of first-place Toronto in Group B. The Mutineers (2-0, 6-2) won 250-242 on Moscow Hardpoint, 6-3 on Standoff Search and Destroy and lost 3-1 on Raid Control before prevailing 250-246 on Garrison Hardpoint.
Atlanta (3-0, 9-1), alone in first place in Group A, had a slightly easier time, but it was still a competitive round against the Los Angeles Thieves. The FaZe won 250-233 on Checkmate Hardpoint and lost 6-5 on Moscow Search and Destroy. Then they won the last two maps, 3-0 on Garrison Control and 250-220 on Raid Hardpoint.
FaZe stay hot, Empire get first win at CDL Stage 5

The Atlanta FaZe earned another sweep while the Dallas Empire and Florida Mutineers won their Stage 5 openers Saturday in the Call of Duty League.
The FaZe proved too much for the Paris Legion, steamrolling their way to a 250-20 win on Garrison Hardpoint, 6-0 on Miami Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Raid Control.
Likewise, the Empire made quick work of the Los Angeles Guerrillas, 250-64 on Garrison Hardpoint, 6-2 on Standoff Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Raid Control.
The Mutineers opened their match against the Seattle Surge with wins on Apocalypse Hardpoint (250-189) and Moscow Search and Destroy (6-5). The Surge responded with a 3-1 win on Checkmate Control before the Mutineers closed it out with a 250-142 romp on Moscow Hardpoint.
Rokkr, Thieves win CDL Stage 5 openers

New York Subliners lost the opener of their home series on Friday, falling 3-2 to the Los Angeles Thieves in Week 1 action of the Call of Duty League s Stage 5.
The Thieves joined the Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Chicago in having won their initial matches in Group A.
In the day s other match, Minnesota Rokkr won the first match in Group B, beating the Los Angeles Guerrillas 3-1.
The 12 teams are split into two groups of six across three weeks of action to determine seeding for the Stage 5 major, which begins July 21. All group-stage matches and playoff matches are best-of-five except for the July 25 grand final, which will be best-of-nine.
OpTic Chicago, FaZe open Stage 5 with victories

Stage 4 major champion Atlanta FaZe opened Stage 5, Week 1 of the Call of Duty League on Thursday by sweeping the London Royal Ravens 3-0.
Optic Chicago beat the Paris Legion 3-0 in their opener in Group A of the New York Subliners home series.
The 12 teams are split into two groups of six across three weeks of action heading into the Stage 5 major beginning July 21. All group-stage matches are best-of-five.
The FaZe were too much for the Royal Ravens, opening with a 250-188 win on Checkmate Hardpoint. The FaZe then took Standoff Search and Destroy 6-4 and clinched with a 3-1 win on Garrison Control.
