The Liberal minority government will have to wait until the new year to pass some of its priority legislation.
Before the House of Commons rose last Friday for six weeks over Christmas, only four bills had received royal assent. They included two COVID-response bills, as well as appropriation bills on granting funds for public administration, appropriation bills being legislation that passes all stages at once.
Here are five pieces of legislation the government hopes to pass early in 2021.
