Hospitals running out of beds as Covid cases rise in Karachi

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus situation worsened in Karachi on Monday with a positivity ratio exceeding 23 per cent as hospitals started running out of beds to accommodate Covid patients, while the country recorded 30 deaths and 2,452 cases during the last 24 hours.
According to Geo News, various hospitals in Karachi are running out of space due to the fast-spreading Delta variant cases in the financial capital of the country.The Indus Hospital management told Geo News that their coronavirus ward and emergency had been filled with Covid-19 patients. Government officials said NIPA’s Infectious Diseases Hospital was at full capacity, adding there was no space for any more patients at the Expo centre.
