President Joe Biden and senior White House officials said the administration was working closely with Colonial Pipeline to mitigate the effects of the ransomware attack and subsequent shutdown of the pipeline. But both the President and officials leading the response repeatedly acknowledged their roles were limited because Colonial Pipeline is a private company, even though it controls the fuel supply to most of the East Coast.

EPAM acquires Israeli cybersecurity co White-Hat

EPAM acquires Israeli cybersecurity co White-Hat White-Hat, which has been involved in managing some of the most high profile cybersecurity crises in Israel, has 65 employees in Tel Aviv. US digital platform engineering company EPAM Services Inc. (NYSE: EPAM) has announced that it is acquiring Israeli cybersecurity company White-Hat. No financial details about the deal were disclosed but market sources believe the acquisition is for about $50 million in cash and shares. The only shareholder in the company is chairman Sharon Nimirovski, who will continue to lead the company after the acquisition together with CEO Ofer Levinger. White-Hat, which has been involved in some of the high profile cybersecurity crises in Israel in recent years, was founded in 2013 by Nimirovski and has 65 employees in Tel Aviv.
