“Umuagwuene is the oldest village in Achara Community, that is why the village square is always used for Achara general meetings and other important activities of the community.
“Even when we are in a gathering or meeting with other communities in Nsukka, it is Umuagwuene Village that takes kolanut on behalf of Achara community.

A common feature of the 2020 Christmas celebration in the South East was massive traffic hold ups, particularly along federal highways such as in Enugu-Ontisha expressway and Enugu-Port Harcourt road.
Our correspondent who monitored the state of the roads was caught up in the traffic for several hours at the Enugu end of both federal highways on different dates.
Despite the bad state of the roads in several areas, nevertheless, motorists had no option but to ply them to get to their various destinations. Work is ongoing at one flank of the Enugu-Port Harcourt road where reconstruction of the road has lasted more than five years.

Umuahia, Dec. 28, 2020 More than 1,000 people, including the indigent and those living with disabilities in the 17 villages of Ihechiowa in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia, on Monday received palliatives from their traditional ruler.
The other recipients of the palliatives were the destitiute, widows and orphans and item distributed included rice, yam, salt, tomato paste and yams.
Stock fish, noodles, condiments, clothes and money were also donated by Eze Linus Mba, the traditional ruler of Ata Igb-Ukwu Umuzomgbo Autonomous Community, Ihechiowa, in his palace.
He expressed the hope that the gesture would give the recipients a sense of belonging.
