Wheelchair Assassin (5 out of 5 stars) Perhaps no band mastered sludgy, desert-style rock like Kyuss, and Welcome To Sky Valley may well be the best evidence of that fact. Everything just came together for them on this album: epic songwriting, infectious grooves, and killer instrumental chops. There was the end times of the early Seventies, where the Vietnam War was still going on, nuclear war was still a big threat, and there was civil unrest in a way the country hadn t seen here since the Civil War.
