Fourteen government doctors at designated Covid hospitals in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district have resigned alleging misbehaviour and harassment by administrative officials.
The doctors, who had been in charge of community health centres and primary health centres that have been turned into Covid hospitals, alleged in a letter to additional chief medical officer Tanmay Kakkar that they were unable to work in such adverse and hostile conditions.
Sources said senior doctors did not turn up at 14 of the 16 community health centres in Unnao on Thursday. Among them were the doctors who have quit or those who have expressed solidarity with them.
OPEC’s output pledge music to ears of pandemic-hit Asian oil buyers
The affirmation from OPEC and its allies that recovering demand had created conditions to boost output will offer relief to Asian oil buyers in the hope the move would ensure adequate supply and potentially prevent a sharp rise in prices at a time some economies are witnessing a resurgence of the COVID-19 virus.
With the alliance betting on the fact that an improving demand outlook will outweigh the surge of coronavirus cases in India, Brazil, and Japan, analysts told S&P Global Platts that OPEC’s optimism stems from the argument that demand from some Asian buyers such as India would be affected, but not to the extent that will make a huge dent on their crude buying plans.

On April 29, Mexico s National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) approved a request by Premier, owned by UK-based Harbour Energy, to modify its exploration plans for block B-60, in the marine part of the Burgos Basin, to explore the Mesozoic formations in the block. CNH had approved a similar request from the company for the adjacent block B-57 on April 22.
Just like in block B-57, Premier will be spending roughly $2 million more than the originally planned $10.29 million at block B-60, as it extends activities into 2023, CNH said. The total area that will be explored after the modifications has almost doubled; this change is good news, CNH commissioner Hector Moreira Rodriguez said during the meeting.
