Ludhiana: A Phagwara resident has been booked for duping an ex-serviceman of Rs 20.30 lakh on the pretext of getting his son a job in Haryana Police as assistant superintendent of police (ASP). An FIR was lodged by Shimlapuri police on Sunday after an investigation.
The accused has been identified as Sandeep Bhardwaj of Phagwara.
Complainant Kuldeep Singh of Azad Nagar said he had come in contact with the accused in 2018 through his friend Sumit Kumar. The accused claimed that he has links in Haryana Police and he can help his son in securing a job of ASP in the police. The accused had also shown him some appointment letters, so he could believe him.
