Lawyers for Patriot Prayer leader requested investigation after judge tossed out attempt to end a criminal case.
The Yamhill County District Attorney s Office will investigate allegations of bias and profiling in the prosecution of a local right-wing protest organizer.
After a federal judge ruled last month that the criminal case against Joey Gibson can proceed, lawyers for the Patriot Prayer leader and his associate filed complaints of selective prosecution against Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt. The Yamhill County District Attorney s Office has agreed to review your allegations of violation of MCDA Policy by members of this office, Multnomah DA s chief assistant, Jeffrey A. Howes, said in a March 8 email. Yamhill County District Attorney Brad Berry will oversee the investigation.

County prosecutors have joined a growing group calling for local police to wear cameras after two recent shooting deaths of Black men by sheriff’s deputies.
The Clark County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office Action and Reform Committee and Prosecutor Tony Golik issued a letter Monday in support of police-worn cameras and urged governing bodies to “practically and financially support” them.
The statement was first shared with Sheriff Chuck Atkins who’s expressed support for a camera program county councilors, and County Manager Kathleen Otto, according to Chief Deputy Prosecutor Scott Jackson.

According to emails obtained through a public records request, Sgt. Pat Moore sent the written complaint against Vancouver City Attorney Jonathan Young to the city of Vancouver’s manager and human resources director on Oct. 20. The Columbian recently received the emails after filing its request Nov. 19.
Moore states in the complaint that Young carried out “retaliation, conflicts of interest and ethics violations” in relation to conversations they had about protests in front of the city attorney’s home in late June, and whether the involved groups should face legal consequences for intimidating a p
