Remembering Betty Miner, more than a trailblazer

Bryan County News Remembering Betty Miner, more than a trailblazer Betty Minder I’m Georgene Brazer a new columnist for the Bryan County News. Please include your home address and telephone number. GAY CONVERSION LAWS There’s an old joke among therapists. How many therapists does it take to change a light bulb? None, because the lightbulb has to want to change itself. The truth contained within this joke is patients are often motivated by wanting to change aspects of themselves or understand themselves better. When it comes to sexual orientation or gender identity, which are two very different areas and should not be conflated, many people of course have no need for a therapist because indeed nothing requires fixing, but it is not true for all. There are patients who seek counselling because they may be conflicted or confused or uneasy about certain feelings or thoughts of themselves.
