Deputy Governor Anne Kananu yesterday renamed Mandera Road in Kileleshwa after the Central Organisations of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli to honour the veteran unionist for his efforts in agitating for workers rights. This road has been renamed after my good friend and brother bwana Francis Atwoli in recognition of his selfless contribution and agitating for the rights of Kenyan workers in the last 54 years, said Deputy Governor Anne Kananu.

[Standard] Nairobi City youth and women groups that operate public toilets in Nairobi’s CBD have accused the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) of harassment a day after the sudden closure of the facilities.  Speaking at OTC, Nairobi on Friday, May 14, Nairobi County public toilet association spokesperson Francis Macharia said NMS was yet to give them guidelines on how they fit the new arrangements since their takeover to warrant the shut. He wondered why NMS shut the toilets before communicating to them yet they have not breached the four-year contracts signed with the county government to manage the facilities.
