WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KGO) We are now just days away from Christmas and while COVID-19 numbers are soaring, it hasn t stopped shoppers from hitting the malls.
Many stores are strictly enforcing the state-mandated coronavirus guidelines and we saw that Sunday night in the East Bay.
Victoria s Secret, Ecco and Lush all had lines as retailers enforce COVID-19 restrictions at the Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek This year you have to wait in line, says shopper Vick Svetcoff.
Gabbi Matteucci said, I just don t like the lines.
But there are lines because retailers are limiting the number of people inside at one time due to state mandates. Some stores are only allowing one or two patrons.

California’s first coronavirus lockdown order, in the spring, produced benefits within a month. By April, Gov. Gavin Newsom was able to crow that the state had “arguably flattened” the curve on infections.
It has been two weeks since a second stay-at-home order was issued, and no such flattening has occurred across most of California. This may be because restrictions are looser than those in the spring, and because many Californians are so fatigued by public health orders or militantly resistant to them that they are mixing with people from outside their households.
But experts say the most pertinent explanation has to do with the amount of the coronavirus in the community. The latest order

WALNUT CREEK, CA Shoppers planning to pop into the Apple Store in Walnut Creek for last-minute Christmas gifts are out of luck. The store in Broadway Plaza, along with all California Apple stores, is closed.
Apple temporarily closed all 53 retail stores in California because of the coronavirus pandemic.
If you have a pre-scheduled appointment for an in-store pickup, a Genius Bar appointment, or a previously reserved one-on-one shopping session with a specialist, you will be able to visit the store through Tuesday.
