Knoxville, Tennessee, April 12, 2021 – Mountain Commerce Bancorp, Inc. Major project begins at Y-12 to shrink high-security footprint
Oak Ridge, Tenn. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC, officials broke ground on the West End Protected Area Reduction project (WEPAR) at Y-12 National Security Complex, which, when completed, will reduce the size of the high-security protected area on the site by approximately 50%. The project supports efforts to modernize Y-12’s high-security boundary and includes the installation of new sections on the perimeter intrusion, detection, and assessment system (PIDAS) as well as a new entry control facility.
Goggin said she was proud of her brother’s accomplishments over the past four years. The siblings had always been close, but now they were spread out across New Zealand. Her brothers had young children, so they didn’t get to see each other as much as they’d like. “We ve always made it work. but it’s nice to be doing this with both my brothers.we re in almost constant contact right now.” Goggin said the first couple of weeks of a new ReBurger can get “a bit nuts,” so the siblings would work alongside staff during that period to help lighten the load.
