For a man who knows the true meaning of deprivation and abundance, solidarity with the common cause comes across as a bounteous duty. Years ago when he appeared before the Senate Committee as a ministerial designate; Ortom’s rich resume featuring personal pull by the bootstraps to conquer a disadvantaged background, culminated in a unanimous decision by the lawmakers to ask him to take a bow. As it were, this, alongside his insatiate appetite for the promotion of his people’s cause saw him elected as a state governor in 2015 and again in 2019.
