Just days after its first COVID-19 inoculations, the University of Florida Health gave its second batch of vaccines Wednesday morning.
The statewide health hub welcomed the recently approved Moderna vaccine this week making around 15,000 total vaccines available to UF Health between the Moderna and the Pfizer medication. Across UF Health campuses, the plan is to vaccinate 1,200 health care workers per day.
“It’s been a long 10 months and today, as well as what we saw over the last week, is an opportunity for UF Health and the public to fight back against this pandemic,” said David Nelson, UF senior vice president of health affairs. “This is really a vaccine for hope, that by the spring, lives might return to normal.”
