Mr Albanese said renters in Rockhampton were under enormous pressure given the region s low vacancy rate. Mr Morrison said Albanese couldn t add up and his housing figures were wrong. In his plan, it cost four times as much to deliver two thirds less housing, Mr Morrison said. Subscriber only Federal Member for Flynn Ken O Dowd has backed his support for new reforms that promise job investment in Northern Australia. A Bill to implement a series of important Coalition Government reforms to the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) passed through parliament paving the way for a new wave of job-creating. Mr O Dowd said the reforms would speed up the delivery of new projects across Queensland. These changes will transform the NAIF to make it a more proactive investor in projects that will generate economic activity and job creation, Mr O Dowd said. In Queensland NAIF has already committed $1.0 billion dollars for 10 projects.

Two Central Queensland politicians have voiced their contrasting opinions on the rollout of the Federal Governmentâs 2021 budget.
Member for Flynn Ken OâDowd said Australians were well on the road to recovery, with the Federal Government promising to rebuild the economy and create more jobs after a COVID-19 induced recession. âAustralia entered the crisis from a position of economic strength having brought the Budget back to balance for the first time in 11 years,â Mr OâDowd said.
âThis provided us with the fiscal firepower to support the Flynn community when we needed it most including record funding for schools, hospitals, aged care, mental health and the NDIS.â

Subscriber only The Health Services Union has targeted Federal Member for Flynn Ken O Dowd and Prime Minister Scott Morrison is an advertising campaign calling for aged care funding. The campaign was launched on Friday urging Mr O Dowd and Mr Morrison to address Australia s aged care crisis in the upcoming budget. The pre-budget blitz will see radio ads calling on Mr O Dowd and the Prime Minister to consider spending a night in an aged care facility, where one aged carer looks after 60 residents, and residents face long waits for their basic needs to be met. The new bridge over the Fitzroy River has officially opened.
The $12.5 million structure at Riverslea is the third road upgrade delivered as part of the $367.2 million Rookwood Weir project.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the Rookwood Weir project is supporting employment and economic development opportunities and will significantly increase water security for Central Queensland.
“The Rookwood Weir is a great example of the Australian Government delivering the water infrastructure that will form the National Water Grid, our $3.5 billion investment to secure Australia’s water future.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning Steven Miles today officially opened the new bridge and handed its ownership over to Rockhampton Regional Council.
