ChatPay Office / Play Arquitetura

© Fran Parente Text description provided by the architects. Created to host a technology and social media startup called ChatPay, the project preserved and highlighted the two main original features of the space: its concrete structure with ribbed slab and the beautiful view to which the three large windows open. For this, the closed spaces that the program demanded - three meeting rooms, a telephone booth and bathrooms, were located opposite to the large windows. The main meeting room (A) approaches the view and enjoys it, without, however, segmenting or dividing the existing window. The air conditioning, lighting and fire facilities were organized and distributed to be apparent in the open areas.

MER Apartment / Jacobsen Arquitetura

© Fran Parente Living, dining and home theater rooms, originally separated by porticos, gain in breadth through the continuity of the European oak slatted ceiling and Limestone Baiteg Blue flooring. This finishing goes beyond the limits of the social areas and can be seen in the kitchen, intimate circulation areas, suites and the master bath. © Fran Parente The independence of the use of these environments is guaranteed by the large panels that are hidden when opened. Another reference that we use frequently in projects and brought to this apartment are the brises, moveable vertical elements that are fitted on the verandah and into window frames.  Perfectly aligned with the ceiling slats, they filter out incoming light while assuring visual privacy from neighboring buildings - which are quite close.

Thompson Hess House / Felipe Hess Arquitetos

© Fran Parente The front ground block, where there was an extensive service program and opened onto a central courtyard of the same character, started housing the garage and a playroom open to an outside area. Now, it has a garden and also connects to the TV room, in the main block, through new wooden and glass doors that reproduce the original frame. © Fran Parente The social hall panel was restored and a shrimp door was incorporated, using the pre-existing wood, to connect the TV room to the other rooms. The living room includes two living areas, a dining room, a new fireplace and a connection to the new office, an old intimate room, which opens onto the back garden.
