According to the Maaroom Progress and Ratepayers Association, there are reports of anti-social behaviour at the local boat ramp and the association has since petitioned the council to do something about it.
This behaviour was described as primarily hooning in the boat ramp carpark.
Fraser Coast Regional Council responded to the reports at the Ordinary Council Meeting on March 24, saying the issue was more of a problem during the summer holiday peak, after 10pm.
The council communicated with the Queensland Police Service about the issue, but without any specific incidents, registrations or vehicle types, there was little police could do to apprehend offenders.

The next stage of a boat ramp carpark upgrade will start this month, adding 68 new carparking spaces for boaters, just before the winter tourist season kicks in.
Stage two of the $1.5 million project, funded by both the Queensland Government and Fraser Coast Regional Council, follows stage one, where 13 carpark spaces were added next to the River Heads boat ramp.
It also comes after a combined investment of $1.59 million worth of works to the River Heads boat ramp carpark, by the State Government and Fraser Coast Regional Council, happened only two years ago. In the second stage of River Heads boat ramp upgrades, 68 carpark spaces will be added, with the works expected to take about three and a half months to complete.

Fraser Coast residents are being asked to get involved in the master planning process for a new-look Pialba Town Centre.
Deputy Mayor Darren Everard said the Pialba Town Centre Revitalisation project aimed to create a city heart for Hervey Bay and make the area a cultural and creative drawcard.
âThe Fraser Coast Regional Council is partnering with the Australian Government through the Hinkler Regional Deal to breathe new life and opportunities into the Pialba Town Centre,â he said.
âStarting with the master plan, Council will look to the community to share their vision and ideas for what a future city heart might look like.
