Long Island high school vaccinates students, staff Freeport High School vaccine clinic Freeport High School on Long Island hosted a vaccination clinic in partnership with Northwell Health. Students and their families were eligible to receive shots. FREEPORT, N.Y. - The Freeport School District hosted an on-site program to administer vaccines to students and staff on Friday at Freeport High School.  The health and safety of our students and staff is the highest priority of the Freeport public school, principal Joseph Mille said. The school said it is the first district on Long Island to offer vaccines to students. The on-site vaccination was in partnership with Northwell Health.

Eli Canfield/The Times Record While Brunswick and Freeport are beginning athletics, another Midcoast school is temporarily closing them down. Mt. Ararat moved to remote learning on Wednesday because of a COVID-19 outbreak at the school. The school hopes to resume in-person learning and athletics on Feb. 8, according to an announcement by athletic director Geoff Godo.
