Paris itself occupies the center of the view, and the Louvre and Notre Dame are easily identifiable, along with the Arc de Triomphe, the Panthéon, and the Invalides. The city s walls encircle the entire city, spanning 20.5 miles. A series of sixteen disconnected forts, constructed to protect the city gates, surround the city. Redoubts and other fortifications were built as well to supplement the forts.

Koya launches nationwide delivery of its udon noodles

London’s Koya is taking its famed udon noodles nationwide with the launch of a meal kit that fits through letterboxes. Delivered by ‘Koya Mail’, the Omiyage box will be available from 15 February and contains two portions of dashi broth and udon noodles in a Koya-branded wool-insulated package.  Handmade the day before dispatch, the udon and dashi are vacuum-packed to give a seven-day shelf life.  Each box will come with a recipe card from Koya’s head chef and co-owner Shuko Oda, starting with a simple recipe on how to cook the udon and dashi at home.  The collectible cards will change monthly and will be supplemented with Instagram videos, with upcoming recipe cards offering  tips on how to recreate Koya s other udon noodle dishes, including ​lamb cumin miso​.

The Drinks Business 12 January 2021 By Lucy Shaw While London restaurants remain shuttered, we’ve rounded up 10 new openings we’re looking forward to this year, from seafood sanctum Manzi’s to the Batman-themed Park Row.   Park Row DC Comics fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer for the opening Park Row in Soho, which will reside on the former site of steakhouse Mash. Going big on Batman, the venue will take interiors inspiration from Bruce Wayne’s hood – Gotham City. Designed to offer diners an immersive experience, the entrance to the restaurant has been modelled on the Batcave and the venue includes a lounge bar called Pennyworth’s, a secret speakeasy, the Iceberg Lounge live entertainment space, and a Harley Quinn-inspired omakase counter dining experience.

Coded in every elaborate dinner party spread and humble Monday night meal for one is a picture of where we’re born, where our ancestors come from, and how we live now.   What does your favorite meal say about you? For “RECLAMATION: Recipes, Remedies, and Rituals,” an upcoming virtual exhibition at the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, DC, curator Melani N. Douglass wants to know.  Douglass is inviting anyone and everyone to share their favorite recipes through an online form. You’ll be asked to share the ingredient list, a picture, and the directions, as well as some behind-the-scenes fare: from where did this dish come? From whom? How and when do you eat it?
