Foley Library says, “Come on back!” Posted
Submitted
FOLEY - The Foley Public Library is ready to get some programs back up and running. The staff has missed all their smiling patrons who come in to participate in the library’s many programs and events. Looks like it is time to “Come On Back!” for three different programs in May 2021.
On Thursday, May 6, 4 - 5 p.m., the library will host its STEM/STEAM based Makersaurus Time for children ages six through 16 with a parent or guardian. This will be held in the upstairs meeting room of the library. Reservations are required to attend this program as space and supplies are limited. Please call 251-943-7665 to reserve a spot for you and your child/children to attend. Family groups will be spaced six feet apart and masks are encouraged.

FOLEY - The City of Foley is entering its 40th year as a recognized Tree City USA. The recognition, awarded by the National Arbor Day Foundation, provides framework to assist communities in expanding and maintaining their public trees.
In an effort to promote the planting of trees in the city, Saturday, Feb. 27 has been declared as Arbor Day in the City of Foley. The event will begin at 1 p.m. at the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermen’s Market, located at 20733 Miflin Road, Foley. Representatives from the Alabama Forestry Commission, Baldwin County Master Gardeners and Certified Arborists will be on hand to answer any questions about trees.

Friends of the Foley Library cancel Annual Book Sale Posted Foley Book Sale 2020
By Jessica Vaughn
FOLEY - The Friends of the Foley Public Library have made the decision to cancel the Annual Book Sale. The Book Sale is usually held in February inside the Foley Civic Center, and draws large crowds over the two-day public event, with a third day being held for Friends of the Foley Library members only.
“The Friends of the Foley Library will cancel the Annual Book Sale scheduled in February 2021,” said Friends of the Foley Library President Rusty Anglin. “We believe we need to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines and avoid large gatherings.”
