To determine its top 25, the publication compared nearly 800 places in America, on everything from housing costs and taxes to healthcare, air quality, and climate change, and natural risk. Forbes praised San Antonio for its good air quality, good economy, and no state income or estate tax. It also noted its median home price is at $208,000, which is 37 percent below the national median.
