Construction is expected to start next summer on a new water tower in Lake Township. The project is one of several scheduled to start in 2021, according to the Northwestern Water and Sewer District. The 1.5-million-gallon tower will be built along Lemoyne Road, between Hanley and Latcha roads, Theresa Pollick, a spokesman for the district, said. In addition to townships in northern Wood County, the tank will also serve Walbridge, Rossford and parts of Northwood. Other projects the district plans for 2021 include:
-A new waterline southwest of Bowling Green to enhance water quality and flow.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has canceled an alert for a missing Pueblo County woman, according to Gazette news partner KKTV. No other information was released by CBI.

Christmas trees and other natural decorations will be accepted curbside and at all five of Catawba County’s Solidwaste Convenience Centers from December 26, 2020 through January 16, 2021. Remove all ornaments, bases, or other decorations before recycling.
Residents who have curbside collection service with Republic Services may put their used Christmas tree out with their garbage on their curbside collection day. Trees will be picked up by a separate Republic Services truck.
Customers that normally receive residential trash and recycling curbside service on Friday, December 25 will have their trash picked up on Saturday, December 26. Republic Services will resume their regular curbside service schedule on Monday, December 28, 2020.

Canton Township is about to lose yet another major retailer along Ford Road.
JCPenney announced its store at 43690 Ford Road will join 14 others nationwide in closing their doors this spring and is an addition to 150 others previously announced to close by the company. As part of our store optimization strategy that began in June with our financial restructuring, we have made the decision to close an additional 15 stores, reads a statement from JCPenney sent to Hometown Life. These stores will begin liquidation sales later this month and will close to the public in mid-to-late March.
