Ireland s health experts not changing advice on indoor hospitality

(Alliance News) - Ireland s National Public Health Emergency Team is not going to change its advice on the return of indoor hospitality, Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said.
The public health experts had called for the return of indoor restaurants and pubs to be delayed from its planned date of July 19, until an enforceable system to allow only vaccinated people to enter can be established.
It is proposed that a vaccine pass scheme could see 1.8 million people who have been fully vaccinated or have had Covid-19 sent documents that will allow them to use indoor hospitality.

TOKYO (Bloomberg): Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said he wants to finish inoculating everyone in the country who’s willing to get a Covid-19 vaccine by October or November, citing progress made in the vaccination drive so far.
Suga revealed his target for the first time during a parliamentary debate in Tokyo on Wednesday (June 9). He said recent numbers show the nation has been vaccinating at around his goal of 1 million doses per day, following a recent increase in pace.

CHICAGO/LONDON - With two Covid-19 vaccines now under scrutiny for possible links to very rare cases of blood clots in the brain, US government scientists are focusing on whether the specific technology behind the shots may be contributing to the risk.
In Europe, health regulators said last week there was a possible link between the AstraZeneca Plc vaccine and 169 cases of a rare brain blood clot known as cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), accompanied by a low blood platelet count, out of 34 million shots administered in the European Economic Area.
The US Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday (April 13) recommended temporarily halting use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after reports of six cases of CVST in women under age 50 among some 7 million people who received the shot in the United States.
