CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) â While North Central West Virginia school systems are conducting instruction remotely, many are reporting school outbreaks or new COVID-19 cases among staff and students.
After working with local health department officials on Thursday, Harrison County Schools announced five new COVID-19 cases, bringing the weekâs total to 23 since Monday.
New cases include one staff member in the Maintenance Department, one staff member at Mountaineer Middle School, one staff member at Robert C. Byrd High School, one student at Big Elm Elementary School and one staff member in the Transportation Department.
Additionally, late Wednesday evening, Taylor County Schools Superintendent Christy Miller reported a new COVID-19 case involving a staff member at Taylor County Middle School.
