Rogowski retired about two years ago, after working 22 years as the city of Willoughby s finance director.
Under his direction, the city s Finance Department was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. Rogowski also served as president of the Ohio Association of Public Treasurers and the Municipal Finance Officers Association.

Woodford Excavating employees work on a section of East Street on Aug. 26 in Fairport Harbor Village. The company, which is based in Leavittsburg, completed a project in 2020 that s intended to improve the operation of storm and sanitary sewers and a water main on East Street between Sixth and New Fourth streets. Additional drainage and road surface improvements also were made on the following streets: Joughin, New Fourth and York. Fairport Harbor Village Council approved a contract with Woodford to perform the project.

No injuries were reported in a Dec. 13 house fire in Fairport Harbor, according to the villageâs fire department.
The Fairport Harbor Fire Department received a call at 5:55 p.m. for a reported house fire at 528 Plum St., according to a news release from the department.
Upon arriving at 6 p.m., there was heavy smoke coming from the second floor. The fire was contained to a second-floor, although there was extensive smoke and heat damage to the second floor making the home uninhabitable, the news release stated.

The fire was under control at 6:46 p.m.
The occupants of the home had evacuated prior to the departmentâs arrival, according to the release.
