Fairfield PAL member, Amyia Sims, has been selected as the Solano First Federal Credit Union Student of the Month for April, 2021.
Amyia is 15 years old and attends Armijo High School. Her favorite TV show is All American and in her free time she enjoys doing arts and crafts. Amyia was selected by her peers at PAL to represent them as the Vice President of the PAL Student Council. She has also participated in the Spring Break Strengths Based Leadership Bootcamp and is an active member of the PAL Career Café. Her favorite thing about PAL is getting to know new people so she can develop her social skills. “During COVID, I have really learned that nonverbal communication can be more important that words!” she says. Fairfield Town Council approves medical marijuana zoning change
The council also addressed the results of a recent survey on waterfront development that found more people wanted access to the water.

Volunteering helps teens gain the new skills necessary for the job market such as leadership, communication skills, dependability, time management, and decision making. Teens who volunteer perform better at school and build a stronger resume for college, career, and scholarship applications. This summer Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis teens, ages 13-18, can sign up with Fairfield PAL to participant in a variety of remote volunteer opportunities.
