Representative Justin Humphrey s comment not only caused a reaction on the House floor but also outside of his office where a group confronted him. “The KKK, everybody agrees on this floor that they have burned, they have threatened, they have destroyed, that is what they are famous for. Would you agree that when people burn, threaten, kill, intimidate that they are a terrorist group and that Black Lives Matter reads that same description?” said the Republican representative of Lane, OK.

It Was A Nightmare : Mom Talks About Lawnmower Accident That Injured Daughter

By: Feliz Romero WANETTE, Oklahoma - A nightmare for any mother: 6-year-old Roxie suffered a horrible lawnmower accident April 18 in Wanette. A helicopter rushed her to the OU Medical Center s trauma unit. “It was a nightmare…her leg was almost gone, and I just broke down,” said Tessa Myers. Ten days and four surgeries later, Roxie is still in the hospital after a partial foot amputation. “She’s autistic, and she is just so delightful. She brings the light to your world, and she loves everybody,” said Myers. Myers is putting together a blood drive Thursday in their hometown of Wanette to try and get more blood for Roxie’s upcoming surgeries.

The Oklahoma State Health Department told News 9 they have almost 90,000 doses on hand and are already administering the vaccine. “The J&J vaccine is safe; they are talking about 1 out of 500,000 people getting these clots. It is about the same as getting hit by lightening, this is not something that is frequent,” Oklahoma Doctor Larry Bookman said. OSDH is now notifying their 335 partners to start administering the vaccine. This time, with an additional fact sheet about the rare blood clotting reaction.

The district teamed up with Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City to put on the special event after a tough year, while celebrating their heritage. “Cultural pride is something that resonates within each student, gives them confidence, makes them proud of who they are. They are also tribal citizens, so they belong to an entire separate tribal sovereign nation,” said Dr. Star Yellowfish, the Director of Native American Student Services. Usually, NASS puts on a banquet, but COVID-19 made them rethink of a way to celebrate their graduates.

Lieutenant Colonel Oren L. Peters knew what he wanted to do at the age of 17. “I decided that I was going to be a soldier. I used to drop by the National Guard Armory, and they would let me oil rifles and straighten up things, I enjoyed it, I was learning something,” said the WWII & Korean War Veteran. Enlisting in the 45th infantry division Oren served in World War II, earning the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. “Wound up as the signal platoon sergeant and we spent 511 days in combat. That is more combat than any unit on the United States Army,” said Peters.
